#LFW Review: Ryan Lo Spring 2015 Ready-To-Wear

Ryan Lo, a 25-year-old fashion designer from Hong Kong is one who isn’t afraid to push the boundaries of high fashion in order to have a little (or a lot) of fun! Citing Carrie Bradshaw as the ultimate muse of his namesake’s latest collection, Lo vividly incorporates his love of fashion, his mood board (full of pictures from chick flicks) and of course, his admiration for Carrie Bradshaw-esque characters as a platform to create extremely girly and over the top pieces as part of his SS15 collection. Using characters from The Carrie Dairies and The Little Mermaid as inspiration, Lo’s collection fully embraces lace, frills, tassles, “mermaid inspired sparkle” and some serious detailing, which can be seen in seashell-shaped, crochet bustiers; sequined octopus dresses; and sparkly starfish headbands. As an added bonus, Lo showcased both trousers and bias-cut dresses for the very first time and I must admit I’m particularly fond of the dungarees!
